Thought For The Day

I think it is a sad state of affairs when others feel the need to judge another person's choice of expression. The bigotry that goes on in this community astounds me. It is everyone's personal choice how they want to use a scrap kit to express themselves....family pages, feelings, emotions, art therapy or even just to entertain themselves creating and having a bit of fun. It's their choice and their opinion. I can appreciate the feelings and creativity that go into a simple paper-like page as much as I can appreciate the artistry that goes into a complex fantasy page.

The world would be a very boring place if everyone wore the exact same clothes, drove the same cars and ate the same food. My wish is for everyone to celebrate their own creative spirit and encourage everyone else to celebrate theirs. Be your own person. Dare to be different!! It's not as scary as you think. Love to you all!

Thanks for that thought! I don't feel that I have experienced that bigotry yet, or perhaps I'm just too new and naive to have recognized it. I'm so happy that we all have the choice to scrap the way we want - just as we have the freedom to do so many other things as we wish! The scrapping world would be really boring if we all scrapped the same way! I love seeing the diversity - I'm still trying to find my style, and I'm so happy I've been able to try so many on!!

Amen!

The world would be a very boring place if there was only one kind of music, one kind of story-telling, one kind of anything.

So you keep coming with all your expressions of self, the world is better for it! (and so is my scrap stash - and the tools I have to express myself)

Well said and so very true! Everyone is entitled to their own form of creativity. Just because it's different then our own, doesn't make it anyless meaningful. To me there is beauty in the contrast, if the world was full of clones it would be a very dull place. Celebrate the amazing differences in all our creative endeavors. It's what makes the our lives so magical.

Thank you so much for your wise thought, Hollie!!!! I so much stand behind your statement!!
I can't believe people dare to critisize other people's work.
We all have our own ways to express our feelings.

Love your LO expressing your statement!!

So true! I like to see diversity and how different people interpret the same kit. That's what makes the world an interesting place!

JustPattyAnne showed me this wonderful layout, Hollie, after I was sounding off about a prime example of that bigotry which is going on at DST at the moment.

I LOVE thinking out of the square. I don't WANT to do what everyone does. I love to EXPLORE and THINK and FEEL and CREATE. How sad for these people that they can't comprehend any other way than "their" way. So narrow minded.

I just LOVE your layout.

You go girl!!!

Hollie, I am so with you. I really don't understand the people that need to be negative about anyone's art. I'm convinced these are the people that feel threatened by anything they can't understand. Which leads me to believe they must have limited abilities in expression themselves. So I am forced to feel very sad by their lack of imagination. Love your kits sweetie. And good luck with your new adventure.
